An intensive journey around the Italian tamburello – between history, technique, and sound experiments. Led by Andrea Piccioni, one of the most important performers of frame drums today, this workshop takes you on a sound journey from the deep roots of Italian folk traditions to the languages of modern music: jazz, world music, and electronic music. Over the course of two days, Andrea offers a balanced mix of technical study, body instrument exercises, repertoire exercises, improvisation, creative use of electronics, and sound research. The workshop culminates in a joint performance. Two days full of rhythm, listening, and creativity, in which tradition becomes fertile ground for new sounds and a lively dialogue with the music of today. |
