Philipp Kurzke (Germany)

The accomplished and popular lecturer teaches regularly at the Tamburi Mundi Festival and is a teacher of oriental percussion and cajon at the Musikwerkstatt Basel. He is also founder and leader of the Freiburg Frame Drum Group and percussionist in various ensembles.

Variation Techniques

In this workshop, Philipp Kurzke will show you a colorful collection of simple but ingenious ideas that you can use to add variety to your rhythm playing. You will learn techniques that you can use to creatively vary and spice up your rhythms—without any complicated theory.

Step by step, we will increase the level of difficulty so that both beginners and those with some experience will get their money's worth. We will also take a first look at advanced variation techniques.

Along the way, we will expand your repertoire of movement sequences and playing techniques – for more expression and variety when playing.
