Time: 3-3:45 pm  /  4-4:45 pm  /  5-5:45 pm
Location: E-Werk Freiburg (the rooms will be announced)
Instructor: Lorenzo D`Erasmo (Italy)
Instruments: Frame Drums and more... (non-drum instruments will be provided)
Content of the course:

The world of Percussion is extremely broad and, by its very nature, is the richest family of tonal differences - just think of the fact that it is the only family of musical instruments that includes both definite-sounding and indeterminate-sounding instruments.
Until a few centuries ago, any instrument that did not use breath or voice was considered a percussion instrument.

The frame drum (in all its variations) can be both a rhythmic instrument and a melodic one, due to the contrasting richness of timbres that these instruments have.

The workshop is dedicated to timbral exploration both in regard to frame drums and possible application of techniques also on similar
unconventional instruments (there are trays, cymbals or teapots that can sound EXTREMELY interesting :)

Workshop program:
- Sound exploration of different frame drums (search for different timbres)
- Research on unconventional objects
- Study of a composition or improvisation created especially for the
workshop

Language of instruction: English
Level: all levels & instruments welcome
