Course Content:

The Tajik doira is no longer unknown at the Tamburi Mundi festival. And: the doira is a quick-change artist! Upright, lap-style and freehand position, slaps, finger rolls and much more - all these techniques are part of the repertoire of this versatile Tajik frame drum and, once properly learned, can also be used very profitably for other drums.

The course is open to beginners and advanced students. The Tajik master percussionist Khayrullo Dadoboev introduces the basic playing techniques of the Tajik doira, but at the same time shows the advanced course participants how they can further develop their already learnt skills with useful exercises and extended playing techniques and rhythms from Central Asia.

Course Language: English
Level: Open to all, but basic frame drumming knowledge is required.
