US percussionist Jarrod Cagwin will demonstrate his very special hybrid drum set. In a kind of open demonstration of his set, the versatile drummer and frame drummer will show how he assembles his set and provide an interesting and unusual insight into his musical work.

In this workshop, Ukrainian frame drummer, composer and festival director Denys Vasyliev (barabanza Music) presents rhythms from his home country and gives insights into the musical traditions of Ukraine. He will also introduce the traditional Ukrainian frame drum and how it is played.
Tamburi Mundi is very pleased that Denys Vasyliev, after numerous online appearances and encounters, is now a guest in Freiburg for the first time in person!

In this workshop, Italian tamburello expert Paolo Cimmino will demonstrate modern techniques to refine articulation in tambourine playing. The content also includes playing techniques (fingering), as well as solkattu and a composition.
