Course Content:

In this clinic, I will demonstrate and explain percussion rhythms and techniques on Daf ( Iranian framedrum with chain) one of the main percussion instruments used in Iranian and Kurdish music.
Techniques I will teach include hand drumming patterns, riz rolling (hand riz, finger riz, chain riz ) while explainng and teaching rhythms unique to Sufi Islam, Kurdistan, and Persian folk and classical music focusing on Additive Limping rhythms such as 5/8, 7/4 and 10/8.

Level: Intermediate - good previous knowledge on daf
