Tamburi Mundi International works towards the worldwide connection of music in the field of frame drums. Our goal is to organize a big meeting in form of a festival in countries that still have a living frame drum tradition.
The first Tamburi Mundi International happened May 2008 in Isfahan/Iran. 2009 the second edition is planned in Italy.

Tamburi Mundi creates a meeting point between participants from Italy and other parts of the world in lessons, concerts, discussions and dance, to find common musical origins get inspired by each other’s music.
The topic of focus of Tamburi Italia: Tamburello, Tammorra, Itallian dance and oriental frame drums such as Tar, Mizhar, Riqq and Bendir.

The workshop program in the mornings includes lessons on Italian frame drums for beginners and advanced players, and one workshop on oriental frame drums  and rhythms.
In the afternoons besides the frame drum workshops, there will be workshops on Italian dance and the so-called „specials“ on different topics such as traditional Italian music and modern influences, or the frame drum as an element in music therapy.

Every evening the day is completed with traditional Italian festas and sessions in the monastery, together with the teachers and local musicians.

The participants can book the whole festival or seperate days. Also single mornings or afternoons are possible. There is a possibility to sleep in the festival area in the monastery „La Foresteria del Viandante“ in Montelparo.

All-inclusive accomodation is available at the festival grounds.
The hostel „La Foresteria del Monastery“ offers the following options:
4 single rooms, 10 double rooms, 4 3-bed rooms, 2 4-bed rooms
